Holding his daughter close with one arm, he pointed toward the distant horizon. "As far as you can see–it all belongs to you, Faith. Someday, I'll take you to the top of a windmill and teach you to dream. When you reach for some of those dreams, you might fall…but your mother and I will be there to catch you because that's what love means: always being there. I love you, little girl." He pressed a kiss to his daughter's cheek. "So much…it hurts. But I reckon that's part of love, too."- Dallas. Lorraine Heath
About This Quote

This is my favorite quote in the whole book. It's so powerful and so touching, I had to share it with you. This is a great story about how love between fathers and daughters can go beyond words. Bethany Bethany has always been close to her father ever since she was born.

When he dies she watches him die right in front of her. She's only 9 years old at the time of his death, but even then she knows he is gone forever. But her father left behind a beautiful message for her to remember him by.

I think this means that even though love seems impossible sometimes, it does exist between men and women, fathers and daughters, friends and friends, sisters and sisters, wives and husbands, boyfriends and girlfriends, etc! He tells her that he loves her so much that it hurts him to know that she will be alone when she leaves this earth someday. He also tells her that he will never fail to be there for her when she needs him the most. The way he says it makes me believe that his love is unconditional...no matter what.

No matter how far apart they may be or how much they fight...it will always be there for them both no matter what!
